About Cynthia Elkins

Cynthia Elkins is the principal of Elkins Employment Law, founded in 1998, and represents employers in all industries in all aspects of employment litigation and in personnel/human resource compliance issues. The emphasis is on being preventative and proactive to avoid disputes and provide clients with “best practices”

Professional & Association Involvement

2012 Co-Chair Elect for the Council of Sections and Advisor for the Executive Committee of the Small Firm & Solo Section of the State Bar, is a contributing author to the State Bar publication “Opening and Managing a Law Office”, Vol I and II and is a regular contributor to other state and local bar publications. Cynthia formerly held a District Director position for the Conference of Delegates of the State Bar of California, and is an active member of the Labor & Employment Law Sections of the State Bar and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Cynthia was General Counsel for the Woodland Hills-Tarzana Chamber of Commerce and a trustee of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association. Cynthia also is Vice Chair Board Development of the Valley Cultural Center.

Education & Employment History

Cynthia graduated from Southwestern University School of Law after graduating from CSU, Northridge. From 1995 through 1998, Ms. Elkins was head of the Employment Law Department of Pearlman, Borska & Wax in Encino, and from 1987 through 1995 was the Senior Associate at an employment law defense firm in the San Fernando Valley. Ms. Elkins has taught Labor and Employment Law for the CSUN Extension program.

Speaking Engagements

Cynthia frequently lecturers at state and national seminars for employers, trade associations and professional associations including the State Bar of California, and the Council on Education in Management.
