About Cynthia Elkins

Cynthia Elkins the principal of Elkins Employment Law formed in 1998, represents clients throughout California in employment law matters, including litigation defense, advice and counsel, management training, and workplace investigations. Cynthia’s belief that a proactive and preventative approach will help avoid disputes and minimize risk, which has benefited her clients over three decades of a successful career.

After graduating from California State University, Northridge with a Bachelor of Science in business administration, Ms. Elkins attended Southwestern School, where she obtained her Juris Doctor. Since then, she has represented businesses of all sizes regarding their human resource and employment law matters. Cynthia has been a top-rated employment law attorney in Southern California and has been recognized as a Super Lawyer.

 

She is member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the California Lawyers Association (CLA) Labor and Employment Law sections, and is an advisor to the Litigation and Solo & Small Firm Sections of CLA. Ms. Elkins also served as the co-chair of the Counsel of Sections for the State Bar of California and Chair of CLA’S Solo & Small Firm Summit . Cynthia also volunteered her time as a District Director at the Conference of Delegates on behalf of the State Bar and delegate on behalf of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association. Ms. Elkins also served on the board of directors of the Valley Cultural Center, as a trustee of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association as general counsel for the Woodland Hills-Tarzana Chamber of Commerce.

Throughout her career, Ms. Elkins has become an engaging, sought-after speaker and presenter on employment law topics. She has spoken at dozens of meetings for the State Bar of California, the California Lawyers Association, and local bar associations throughout California, along with trade organizations for the dental, veterinary and manufacturing industries. A talented writer, she is also a contributing author to the State Bar of California and the CLA publications Opening and Managing a Law Office.
